About Barbara Linert

AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR OF

TALES OF A DOG NAMED KITTY

Barbara Linert is a grandma, retired from various and sundry careers from accounting to politics. And, now that the book is published, she is an author and illustrator.

Barbara and her husband helped to found Christian Heritage Academy in Lakeville, where her children went to school. She designed the school’s original logo, did the bookkeeping and, as needed, substitute teaching.

Barbara grew up in rural Minnesota riding horses, milking cows and doing chores with cousins on their grandparent’s farm near Plummer; but Thief River Falls is her home town.

She studied art in college, and their home is decorated with her work. She and her husband have a carpentry business and live in Eagan in the 1919 Trapp family farmhouse that they have lovingly restored (pictured below!).

She spends her time gardening and enjoying her family: three happily-married daughters who have given her eight grandchildren and a plethora of grand-animals. Including a dog named Kitty, who went to college but never caught a squirrel.

Barbara is available for school visits, speaking engagements, book club discussions, freelance writing projects, and interviews.
